Luxury Pocket Door Hardware - Just a couple of months ago I went over to fix a pocket door that was shutting in a strange angle. It was the first time I had ran into this kind of scenario and was definitely lost. I began looking in the pocket door frame and got a flashlight. I had trouble finding the problem but when I did it was evident.
As the pocket door was slipping closed it would work flawlessly but when you went to open it the bottom of the door would stick out about an inch and a half passed the door jam. There clearly was not any method as it absolutely was at that back of the pocket door frame close to the framing itself, to reach the screw.
It was the sole thing I really could think of and would require a straightforward wall patch and some paint to really make the repair complete. This job took me about one hour to cut the hole and replaced the screw that had fallen from the pocket door track. I then use some quick setting drywall plaster plus some fiberglass drywall tape to repair the wall. This took another hour to finish the drywall properly.
Some pocket door problems are a little more easy to fix than this one. Most pocket doors seemed to have problems sliding and eventually are left closed, never to be properly used again. Painting the doors over and over again can in fact increase the depth of the door or the door to swell keeping it from opening properly can be also caused by excessive moisture in the house over long periods of time.
