Double Pocket Door Latch Hardware - Just a couple months ago I went over to repair a pocket door that was closing at a peculiar angle. It was the first time I had ran into this sort of scenario and was definitely lost. I started looking in the pocket door frame and got a torch. I had trouble discovering the issue but when I did it was obvious.
There clearly was not any solution to attain the screw because it was at that very back of the pocket door frame close to the framing itself.
It was the only real thing I really could think of and would require an easy wall patch and some paint to make the repair complete. This job took me to cut the hole and replaced the screw that had fallen from the pocket door path. I then use some quick setting drywall plaster plus some fiberglass drywall tape to repair the wall. This took another hour in order to complete the drywall properly.
Some pocket door issues are a little more easy to repair than this one. Most pocket doors appeared to have issues sliding and eventually are left shut, never to be used again. Painting the doors over and over again can actually add to the thickness of the door or excessive moisture in the house over long periods of time also can cause the door to swell preventing it from opening properly.
