Kwikset Double Pocket Door Lock - Just a couple months ago I went over to repair a pocket door that was closing in a strange angle. This was the first time I'd ran into this sort of scenario and was definitely lost. I got a torch and began looking within the pocket door frame. I had a hard time finding the problem but when I did it was noticeable.
The trouble turned out to be as the door slid back to the framework the tracking would hang down at an angle from the weight of the doorway and the path was missing a screw in the very rear. There clearly was not any strategy as it was at that back of the pocket door frame near the framing itself to achieve the screw.
As a way to fix the pocket door trouble, I was really going to need to remove a great sized area of the plastered wall in the upper right-hand corner of the pocket door frame. This was the only real thing I really could think of and would require a wall patch that is simple plus some paint to help make the repair complete. Then I use some quick setting drywall plaster plus some fiberglass drywall tape to correct the wall. This took another hour to finish the drywall correctly.
Some pocket door troubles are a little more easy to repair than this one. Most pocket doors seemed to have troubles sliding and eventually are left closed, never to be utilized again. Painting the doors over and over again can actually add to the thickness of the door or excessive moisture in the house over long periods of time also can cause the doorway to swell preventing it from opening correctly.
