Accuride 1234 Pocket Door Slide - Just a few months ago I went over to fix a pocket door that was shutting at a peculiar angle. This is the first time I'd ran into this kind of scenario and was undoubtedly confused. I started looking inside the pocket door frame and got a torch. I had trouble finding the problem but when I did it was apparent.
There is not any way because it was at that back of the pocket door frame close to the framing to reach the screw.
To be able to correct the pocket door problem, I was going to have to remove a great sized area of the plastered wall at the top right hand corner of the pocket door frame. This is the sole thing I could think of and would require an easy wall patch and a few paint to make the repair whole. Then I use some fiberglass drywall tape and some quick setting drywall plaster to mend the wall. This took another hour to finish the drywall correctly.
Some pocket door troubles are a little more easy to fix than this one. Most pocket doors seemed to have troubles falling and eventually are left shut, never to be used again. Painting the doors over and over again can actually add to the depth of the door or the doorway to swell preventing it from opening correctly can be also caused by excessive moisture in the home over long periods of time.
