Johnson Hardware Pocket Door Jamb Kit - Just a couple months back I went over to repair a pocket door that was shutting in a bizarre angle. This is the very first time I'd ran into this kind of situation and was definitely lost. I began looking inside the pocket door frame and got a flashlight. I had difficulty finding the issue but when I did it was clear.
The bottom of the door would stick out about an inch and a half, as the pocket door was skidding shut it would work flawlessly but when you went to open it. There was no method to reach the screw because it had been at that very back of the pocket door frame near the framing.
In order to repair the pocket door difficulty, I had been going to need to remove a good sized area of the plastered wall in the top right-hand corner of the pocket door frame. This is the only real thing I would require a simple wall patch and could think of and a few paint to help make the repair complete. This job took me to cut the hole and replaced the screw that had fallen out from the pocket door track. Then I use some fast setting drywall plaster and some fiberglass drywall tape to mend the wall. This took another hour in order to complete the drywall properly.
Some pocket door issues are a little more easy to repair than this one. Most pocket doors seemed to have issues sliding and eventually are left shut, never to be properly used again. Painting the doors over and over again can in fact increase the thickness of the door or the doorway to swell keeping it from opening properly can be also caused by excessive moisture in the home over long periods of time.
