Baldwin Privacy Pocket Door Lock - Just a couple months ago I went over to fix a pocket door that was shutting in a strange angle. It was the first time I'd ran into this kind of scenario and was undoubtedly lost. I began looking in the pocket door frame and got a torch. I had trouble discovering the issue but when I did it was clear.
As the pocket door was skidding shut it works perfectly but when you went to open it the bottom of the door would stick out about an inch and a half passed the door jam. The difficulty turned out to function as the track was missing a screw in the back so when the door slid back to the frame the tracking would hang down at an angle from the weight of the door. There clearly was no approach because it was at that very back of the pocket door frame near the framing itself to attain the screw.
It was the only thing I really could think of and would require an easy wall patch plus some paint to help make the repair whole. I then use some fiberglass drywall tape and some quick setting drywall plaster to fix the wall. This took another hour to finish the drywall correctly.
Some pocket door difficulties are a little more easy to fix than this one. Most pocket doors seemed to have difficulties falling and eventually are left shut, never to be used again. Painting the doors over and over again can in fact increase the thickness of the door or excessive moisture in the home over long periods of time can also cause the door to swell preventing it from opening correctly.
