Glass Doors For Pocket Doors - Just a couple of months ago I went over to repair a pocket door that was closing at a bizarre angle. This was the very first time I had ran into this kind of situation and was definitely lost. I got a flashlight and began looking inside the pocket door frame. I had difficulty finding the problem but when I did it was obvious.
The difficulty turned out to be as the door slid back to the framework the tracking would hang down at an angle in the weight of the door and the track was missing a screw in the very rear. There was not any strategy as it had been at that back of the pocket door frame near the framing itself to attain the screw.
This was the only thing I could think of and would require a wall patch that is simple and a few paint to help make the repair whole. This job took me about one hour to cut the hole and replaced the screw that had fallen out from the pocket door path. I then use some fast setting drywall plaster plus some fiberglass drywall tape to fix the wall. This took another hour to finish the drywall correctly.
Some pocket door difficulties are a little easier to repair than this one. Most pocket doors seemed to have difficulties sliding and eventually are left closed, never to be utilized again. Painting the doors over and over again can actually increase the depth of the door or the door to swell preventing it from opening correctly can be also caused by excessive moisture in the home over long amounts of time.
