Pocket Door Pull Satin Nickel - Just a few months ago I went over to fix a pocket door that was shutting in a weird angle. It was the first time I'd ran into this type of scenario and was definitely lost. I began looking inside the pocket door frame and got a flashlight. I had difficulty discovering the issue but when I did it was apparent.
As the pocket door was sliding closed it would work perfectly but when you went to open it the base of the door would stick out about an inch and a half. The issue turned out to function as the path was missing a screw in the back and as the door slid back to the framework the tracking would hang down at an angle in the weight of the doorway. There is no way as it had been at that very back of the pocket door frame near the framing, to achieve the screw.
It was the only thing I would require an easy wall patch and really could think of and a few paint to really make the repair whole. Then I use some quick setting drywall plaster and some fiberglass drywall tape to correct the wall. This took another hour to complete the drywall correctly.
Some pocket door issues are a little easier to fix than this one. Most pocket doors appeared to have issues sliding and eventually are left closed, never to be properly used again. Painting the doors over and over again can actually add to the thickness of the door or excessive moisture in the house over long periods of time can also make the doorway to swell keeping it from opening correctly.
