Power Pocket Door Opener - Just a couple months ago I went over to repair a pocket door that was closing in a peculiar angle. It was the very first time I'd ran into this sort of scenario and was definitely confused. I got a torch and started looking within the pocket door frame. I had a hard time discovering the problem but when I did it was evident.
There was no way because it was at that very back of the pocket door frame near the framing to reach the screw.
In order to repair the pocket door trouble, I had been going to have to remove a good sized area of the plastered wall in the top right-hand corner of the pocket door frame. It was the sole thing I really could think of and would require a simple wall patch plus some paint to help make the repair complete. I then use some quick setting drywall plaster plus some fiberglass drywall tape to repair the wall. This took another hour to complete the drywall properly.
Some pocket door problems are a little easier to repair than this one. Most pocket doors appeared to have problems falling and eventually are left closed, never to be properly used again. Painting the doors over and over again can in fact increase the thickness of the door or excessive moisture in the home over long amounts of time can also cause the door to swell preventing it from opening properly.
